My name is Matt Ashby. I am a lecturer in criminology in the Division of Sociology at Nottingham Trent University. Prior to my current job I was a research student at the UCL Department of Security and Crime Science.
Before entering academia, I spent five years as a police officer, as well as working as a community support officer and in a police intelligence bureau.
My research is mainly about crime analysis and transport crime. You can see a list of my publications (or view an alternative list on Google Scholar). I tweet as @lesscrime. Any comments I make here or on Twitter are my own and probably don't represent the views of anyone I work for.
I also run the Criminology Papers journal-alerts service, which provides free updates on new articles in criminology, criminal justice, penology, policing and forensics journals by email, RSS or Twitter. Find out more or subscribe for free.
